RGV LEAD Regional Conference Coming in January 2021

Save the Date! January 14, 2021, is the date set for the RGV LEAD Regional Conference. The Keynote presenter will be David Leal from Bank of America and a former RGV LEAD Scholarship recipient. The conference will be virtual and will follow previous conference agendas.

The Opening General Session will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by two breakout sessions that will be filled with presentations related to education and training. The Closing General Session will be at noon. As in the past, there will be vendors and door prizes. Register at: https://tinyurl.com/ RGVLEADConference. You can also contact Eliza Groff at: egroff@rgvlead.org.

David Leal, the guest speaker for the event, grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and is a native of McAllen, Texas. David was the recipient of RGV LEAD’s first-ever scholarship (formerly known as the Dr. Lauro Cavazos Tech Prep Scholarship).

“Receiving the Dr. Lauro Cavazos scholarship from RGV LEAD after high school not only provided a significant financial benefit but also allowed me to gain a network of extremely talented entrepreneurs, educators, and policymakers throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Texas. This has allowed me to stay connected to the Valley business and education communities even when I was living and working out of state.”

David will share his success story and will inspire participants to be advocates for our generation of students. David Leal is a Director at Bank of America Securities in the bank’s Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) Corporate Banking practice. He works with global TMT companies on capital structure advisory, including acquisition financing, risk management, and cash management solutions, and has helped clients on financing transactions totaling over one hundred fifty billion dollars. David has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
